The image was created in photoshop to show how strong AI really is. The strength that AI has could easily be abused and may one day take over society. The AI art looks more realistic but the effort to make it is minimal. Real art may be less quality but at least it’s human made.

Over the last decade, there has been a rise in the creation of new AI technology to do things that humans do at a faster pace. Things like driving, drawing, writing, and even solving math equations. With this rise in technology there is some fear for what the future holds. I don’t blame them, I also believe robots may take over one day.

In fact, these AI technologies are already used in some countries. In Nagasaki Japan, there is a place called the Henn-Na Hotel, which is a hotel staffed by robots. The hotel has 24/7 human staff but the robots do most of the work (https://www.uniqhotels.com/henn-na-hotel).

On the lower scale AI is being used daily at school in harmful ways. Students are using AI chat bots to type out essays that the students copy and paste as their own. Just two clicks and a student has a whole story. This is a continuing problem that needs to be stopped world wide.

AI generated work is getting past cheating filters like Turnitin giving students grades that they don’t really deserve. Students using AI are getting grades higher than people who actually took time on assignments.

Students already use their phones a bunch during the day and giving them access to AI adds more distractions from their work. When a teacher tells students to write an essay, they can just pull out their phone and ask the AI.

But don’t get me wrong, AI is a great tool for students and teachers if used correctly. But students can’t be responsible enough to use AI properly. Typing in four words and getting a full essay doesn’t help students in any way. Teachers don’t grade on length they grade on effort, if a kid puts down the AI and tried they’re best they can get a good grade.

The amount of AI usage is getting out of hand and teachers need to start limiting student access. The work kids produce should be made by hand, not machine. I hope more and more people start to realize that if we don’t use AI correctly they may be problems in the future.
