Girl’s soccer started the season-off with a cookout and team scrimmages to kick off the 2024-2025 season.
JV-A, JV-B and Varsity each ran a scrimmage. With cold weather, the girls made the most of it and played to their heart’s content. The teams were focused on preparing for the first district game on January 7th against Tompkins.
“As a team we prepared ourselves by practicing, working as a team, helping one another, and pushing each other to be out very best,” said Freshman Tess Sampaio. “The inner squad match was really fun and I felt that our team is going to do very well this season because of how well we did in the inner squad match.”
With a new varsity coach, the program has been rebuilt after last year’s semi-regional finalist run. With the goal of making play-offs again this year, the teams are looking forward to the season and ready to face any challenge that gets in their way.
“It’s a whole new program, we’ve been working really hard on it. Our team bonding is amazing, and I feel like our chemistry is gonna reach its peak this year,” said senior Grace Robertson. “I feel like our team is really competitive, and just in, like, our little scrimmages, like, you can see, like, we want it.”
With the team having a positive mindset, the team hopes to build bonds with one another and to be close as a team.
“I want us to bond and make some really good memories that we’ll remember forever,” said Senior Addison Cummings. “I want to have fun and enjoy the team and make new friends.”
With the seniors wrapping up their final season in high school, they are determined to leave a legacy they will be proud of.
“I want to make sure that I get everything I want out of this year to push, to push my team, myself, and not give up. This is gonna be a great year,” said Grace Robertson.
