The varsity tennis team’s second game of the season ends with a 1-10 loss, although this loss the team’s spirits remain high.
The tennis tournament was canceled twice due to recent downpours, and finally came to an end on September 12th with a final score of 1-10. Although the score suggests otherwise, the team had moments of success and are ready to grow.
The single win came from line 4 freshman, Alisa Bough who demonstrated great skill and experience for a 9th grader, and took one victory from Seven Lakes with her doubles partner, Namrata Mehjika.
Vincent Rivas, line 1 displayed great perseverance against the top contender of Seven Lakes in a singles match even though he ultimately lost.
“There’s lots to improve on,” line 5 sophomore, Elizabeth Jia said.
The varsity team is ready to refine their skills, and take the victory at their next match against Katy High School on September 17th.
This match may have been a setback, but they are motivated to turn this season around.
Their teamwork, and effort was commendable.
“The team loves each other even when we are losing,” Alisa Bough said.
