The final choir concert of the year, “Night at the Grammys”, pulled out all the stops. Each song had its own set of lighting and costumes. The choir performed various Grammy-winning songs including Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”, Elton John’s “Crocodile Rock”, David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance”, and many more.
“Thriller” began with the lights turning off and smoke began filling the room. Many choir members dressed as zombies stumbled out and lay on the ground. Once the music started all members began to get up and dance. The choreography was extremely well done and the director made sure to include everyone at least once.
Some students had a solo or duet. Even the directors had a song with a piano student. The song was dedicated to the graduating class, because it was the first song that they performed at their first pop concert.
“Night at the Grammy’s” proved to be a fitting send off to the ’23-’24 school year, and a great showcase of the choir’s talent.
