The Warriors hosted back-to-back home games against Morton Ranch and Mayde Creek on January 5th and January 9th. In both games, the Warriors were able to close out the win in tight games. Their record now holds to 21-5 overall and 6-2 against district.
On January 5th, the Warriors faced off the Morton Ranch Mavericks and dominated in offense. Rayan Fadika came up big and dropped a season high of 21 points, while Jude Oluokun grabbed a season high of 14 rebounds, helping their team winning 74-65.
On January 9th, the Warriors snuck away with a win against the Mayde Creek Rams in a close game 51-46. Jaden Holt led the game in points with 22 total points and Elijah Black operated the offense with 6 assists.
“It was an ugly game, defense kept us in the game the whole time,” Coach Jones said. “We defended, played together, and I’m happy it came our way with the win.”
Jordan is set to play the Paetow Panthers on Tuesday, Jan 16. The last time the Warriors faced the Panthers, the Warriors lost by 49-74. They are looking to bounce back from their big loss.
“We kind of threw that game away,” Coach Jones said. “We always have two throw away games each year and that was one of our throwaway games. We don’t even talk about that one, we just say ‘lets get ready for the next game’.”
Looking ahead of schedule, the Warriors have an upcoming home game against the Katy Tigers on Jan 19 and against the Seven Lakes Spartans, who are currently first in the district.
