The second annual homecoming parade allowed students to go out and raise school spirit.
“I’m the first and original student council advisor for Jordan. I started the parade,” AP Human Geography teacher Kirsten Hampshire said. “We didn’t do a parade until we had a senior class.”

Student groups worked on the parade for weeks before performing.
“[Practices were] very long and challenging that took a bunch of hours,” sophomore cheerleader Elizabeth Parham said. “It was rewarding to be able to do it.”

The most memorable part of the event for attendees and participants was the pep rally which had an assortment of activities for the audience to watch.
“I think the Zorb balls were pretty fun,” senior Homecoming King Ryan Daly said. “They were probably my favorite part.”

A few students mentioned how other Katy ISD parades had bigger crowds.
“I would say that the other parades had a bigger turnout because it was on a Friday and people weren’t forced to go,” senior Homecoming Queen Idara Etuks said. “I would say that in terms of having the most fun I think Jordan High School was more fun.”
The parades have only been happening for two years, but they’re an anticipated part of the homecoming season.
“I think it’s supposed to be a really good way to get school spirit up for the whole HOCO thing,” Daly said.
